Terms of Use

Draft — last edited 2026-07-11. Not yet reviewed by counsel.

This is a working draft, not a published legal document. It was written to match what the BodyBench app actually does (subscriptions, health data, AI features) but has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have it reviewed before linking it from a live App Store listing.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the BodyBench mobile application ("BodyBench", "the App", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using BodyBench, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What BodyBench is

BodyBench lets you run a set of physical fitness tests (cardio, strength, power, mobility, balance, agility, neuromuscular control, body composition, posture, and recovery), scores your results against population norms, and — when you request it — generates an AI-written interpretation ("Coach") and a training plan built from your data. Test features are free. Coach reports and training plans are part of the paid BodyBench Coach subscription, with one free Coach report included.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use BodyBench. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Not medical advice

BodyBench is a fitness and training tool, not a medical device or a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI-generated insights and training recommendations are fitness guidance, not medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting a new training program, especially if you have an existing injury, medical condition, or are returning from surgery. If a test result is flagged for professional review, treat that flag seriously and see a professional — do not rely on the App's interpretation instead.

4. Subscriptions

BodyBench Coach is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual), billed through your Apple ID. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions on your device. Pricing is shown in the App before you subscribe and may vary by region. We don't store or process your payment details — Apple handles all billing.

A fair-use policy applies to the Coach feature to prevent abuse of the underlying AI services (for example, automated or excessive requests unrelated to genuine personal use). We may throttle or suspend access for accounts that clearly abuse the service.

5. Your content

You may capture photos and videos (jump tests, posture scans, meal photos) and write free-text notes (training feedback, injury descriptions) within the App. This content stays on your device unless you explicitly request an AI reading, at which point the relevant content is sent to the third-party AI provider you've selected in order to generate that reading. You retain ownership of your content. You're responsible for making sure your content doesn't violate any law or infringe anyone else's rights.

6. Third-party AI providers

AI-generated readings (Coach reports, posture insight, meal analysis, plan adjustments) are produced by a third-party large language model provider that you choose in Settings (for example Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, GLM, or Qwen). When you request a reading, the relevant test data, photos, or notes are sent to that provider for processing. We don't control how each provider's own terms apply to that processing — see the selected provider's own policies for details.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use BodyBench to: (a) attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the App's scoring logic or prompts for commercial use; (b) upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights; (c) interfere with the App's operation or attempt to bypass subscription gating; or (d) use the App in a way that could reasonably harm yourself given a flagged medical condition, ignoring the in-App warnings.

8. Disclaimers

BodyBench is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of AI-generated content. Norm-based scoring reflects population statistics and may not perfectly represent any individual. We do not guarantee that training plans will produce any particular result.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BodyBench and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including any injury resulting from following a training recommendation. Use the App's exercise guidance at your own risk and stop immediately if something feels wrong.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the App changes. We'll update the "last edited" date above when we do. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
